February 4: I did some minor revisions to the Star web site. I did some major revisions to the Ralph Page Weekend web site: (1) I changed the emphasis to be more of an archival web site rather than one that does current news; that’s covered by the NEFFA web site.  (2) I brought it up to date after having been neglected for a few years.

January 15, 2015: The Star Hampshire web site has been updated with much information about the 2015 Weekend including dates, staff, registration information, and more. Check it out; it looks really good!

August 1: I updated the Dance newsletter, Lamprey River Band/Dover and Durham Wednesday Night Jam Session listings.

April 11-13: Further updates to Star web site have been made, as well as a few other miscellaneous changes.

January 5, 2014: Star Hampshire web site updated to include material about 2014 weekend. (There have been other undocumented  changes in the past several months.)

March 19, 2013: Star Hampshire web site is updated to include registration information. Registration begins 4/1/13. I updated the Durham Jam Session page to include likely vacation weeks for 2013. The Lamprey River Band page now lists Dover dances for the year. The Dance Newsletter calendar is now updated too.

November 10: I made some major updates to the Star and RPDLW web sites, getting them ready for next year. Also updated the Dover Dance web page and updated the Newsletter.

September 24: I updated the RPDLW web site, and the Star web site; created 2012 archival page, wrote report on the 2012 weekend.

August 9: Attachments from the Star Hampshire Welcome letter are now online.

August 5: Ralph Page Weekend page now includes a fuller staff listing and links to staff web sites.

August 3: The Publicity Flyer for the Ralph Page Weekend is now online.

June 8: The entire web site has moved to a new web host. This will change some aspects of the site. In particular the shortcut addresses have changed and the old ones no longer work. The new shortcut addresses are listed below on the left. Apologies for the change but I was unable to avoid it. I will gradually update other aspects of the site as time permits.

May 5: I made some minor updates to the newsletter based on new information (e.g. the Deerfield dance has extended its season).

March 25: I updated the newsletter to cover dances through October.

March 8: Most remaining Star Hampshire information is now in  place, including the Publicity Flyer for downloading.

March 5: I added a story about this month’s Deerfield dance to the newsletter and the Music and Dance section. I also added caller/band listings for the Gilmanton dance.

March 4: I added Gilmanton to the Newsletter page (no caller/musician information yet). I also did a major update to the Star web site which now includes 2012 registration information.

February 3: I added the Concord dance to the Newsletter page.

January 26: The RPDLW 2012 Archives Page is now in place.

January 17 & 18: I added a newly scheduled March Kingston dance to the dance calendar, and filled out the remaining Star Hampshire staff list.

January 5: Updated the Dance Newsletter with dates and where known callers/bands at local dances through June.

January 4, 2012: I updated the Star Hampshire Web Site, and also made a minor update to the Seacoast Country Dance Newsletter web site.

December 5: I updated the RPDLW Staff Bio page. I also updated the links on all RPDLW pages to include the NEFFA home page and the Facebook page.

October 15: Most of the Ralph Page site is now updated.

September 8: I updated the Fiddler’s Picnic page.

August 3: I updated the Wed. Night Jam Session page to include days we’re not meeting this year and reorganized it and updated a couple related pages. I also updated the Fiddler’s Picnic and Natural Heritage pages.

June 7: I added a bunch of new tunes, and also Facebook links for both Ralph Page and Star.

May 16: I added the schedule of Dover dances for the rest of the year.

March 18: Star Publicity Flyers are now available too. Registration for the weekend starts April 1.

March 17: The dates are now available for the 2012 Weekend; hopefully we’ll have staff listings start to appear soon. The Star web site now has the 2011 Registration Form. Please Note: It’s a fillable PDF, and there are a couple things you need to know if you’re going to use it as such (as opposed to printing it and filling it out). So make sure to read the directions!

Jan. 11: RPDLW Event Schedule is now available on the web site.

Jan. 4, 2011: I updated the RPDLW web site to include a housing special; and I corrected the link for the page for links to recorded music on several pages.

Dec. 5: I updated the RPDLW web site to include the preliminary program grid and to include detailed performer information.

Nov. 18: I updated the Star web site with the 2011 information and archived the 2010 information.

8/11/10: The Fiddler’s Picnic and Barrington Heritage pages are completely up to date finally.

6/22/10: The Fiddler’s Picnic page is now updated. I also restored all the photos pages which have been missing for a while.

6/14/10: I updated the LRB page to include a Google Map for directions to City Hall and to include remaining dates for 2010. I also updated the Barrington Natural Heritage & Agricultural Fair page for this year’s event. I moved the Rambling Commentary to the Contras & Squares section.

5/12/10: I updated the RPDLW web site to include Bruce Rosen and the new  band name Firetruck for  Ethan, Anna & Bruce.

5/11/10: I added information about the Pittsfield Fiddling Contest on the Wednesday Night Jam Session page.

4/22/10: The Ralph Page site has been updated with most 2011 information and with a preliminary flyer.

2/19/10: I’ve added links to videos of the NH Chronicle show about the Ralph Page Weekend. Also updated the Star web site for 2010 and added some commentary to the home page.

2/10/10. RPDLW, contradancing on NH Chronicle; put up major announcements. I also added in an announcement about the state of the newsletter.

1/11/10. Final RPDLW schedule is posted, and the admission fees are posted on the main page.

1/5/2010. Preliminary RPDLW schedule posted.

December 30, 2009. I added the 2008 RPDLW photo page finally.

December 1, 2009. I updated the Star Hampshire site today.

July 14, 2009. The newsletter is online, a combined July/August issue; and I modified the photo index page so it works better now. I also updated the NE contra/squares page.

June 15 - July 10, 2009 (approximately). I’ve updated a large part of the web site to the new layout, updated the Wednesday Night Jam Session, Fiddler’s Picnic, Fiddle Tunes, Ralph Page and other parts with new content as well as new layout.

June 2, 2009. The June newsletter is posted, and the newsletter site is revised somewhat as is the home page.

May 29, 2009. In the past several days I’ve revised the navigation bar and reduced the size of the header for faster loading, greater legibility and fitting more on smaller monitors without scrolling; so far this only applies to the RPDLW and Star pages but I’ll move it to the rest of the site gradually.

May 5, 2009. I updated the newsletter and added a section for contact information for dances which will be created gradually. I also modified the home page to load more quickly.

March 27, 2009. I added an updated Star Hampshire flyer & brochure and found and hopefully eliminated some text artifacts that were introduced when upgrading from iWeb 1 to iWeb 2 which handles nonstandard fonts differently.

March 6, 2009. I updated the newsletter site to include local dances for a few month into the future.

  1. I redesigned the Newsletter portion of the web site and put up a Local Dance newsletter for the next month or so. The Fiddle Tunes main page has been updated but not the subpages.

December 2008 and Early January, 2009

  1. I’m doing a major revision of the web site: (1) complete revision of RPDLW site; (2) widening of pages, starting with RPDLW site; (3) new navigation bar; (4) renaming of pages for a more logical system of page names.

The final Star Hampshire staff information is in place, as are the final flyers in two forms. The April Newsletter is finally up.

  1. I’ve done a bunch of things! The 2007 RPDLW photo page is up, the main RPDLW page is modified to include the 2008 dates and recognize that the 2007 weekend is done; there is now an archival 2007 page with the program, flyer and brochure for historical purposes, and links to the photo page. I also put the Marcel article from the Morning Sentinel up; eventually it will be connected to a section on fiddlers as well.

  1. I redesigned the RPDLW home page to simplify its structure; that may take care of the problems of crashing in IE 6, but I can’t test it yet. I also added contact information for those who agreed to have theirs added.

  1. I got the RPDLW brochure to download correctly, and incorporated some of David Millstone’s suggestions including adding in the MFS and NH Council on the Arts logos. I also added in the preliminary grid. I updated the Contact Page to include Linking information too.

I’m going to have to rename the site because it’s too similar to the New Hampshire Library of Traditional Music & Dance web site of Special Collections at the UNH Library which houses the Ralph Page and other collections. I added in the current listening selection for the Wednesday night jam session.

It’s not really complete; I’d like to make it less text-heavy, and it probably needs some editing, but it’s at least presentable, and it contains the site’s first photo page. That could also use some work but at least it’s a start.

  1. I revised the organization of the Tune section: tunes are now labeled as “Fiddle Tunes” rather than “Wednesday Night Fiddle Tunes”, and Wednesday Night tunes are labeled in the About section. This is because the old organization was becoming cumbersome. The page names were changed to reflect this.

  2. I put the December newsletter online, and put a couple new stories online: one about the Wentworth dance, and one about Old Grey Goose and the early contradance revival in Maine.

  1. I finally figured out how to put the newsletter on the web site in viewable form (rather than just as a PDF) without it being an excessive amount of work, so the November newsletter is now online on its own page roughly as it appears in the print version. Pretty neat!
